How To Get A First Feature Made
Northern Film & Media will be working in partnership with Creative England to deliver “How to Get a First Feature Made” – a North East edition of Creative England’s highly successful talent modules programme.
Designed for prospective first-time feature filmmakers, the modules will take up to up to 40 carefully selected early career filmmakers through a detailed and expert-led overview of the complete lifecycle of feature film production. Open to those working in factual and animation as well as drama, the aim of the programme is to increase the readiness of would-be-first time feature film makers, primarily based in the North East of England but also open to those in the North West and Yorkshire, to make the leap from short to feature film production. This will be achieved by giving participants access to a coherent and comprehensive overview of the current landscape of and lifecycle of feature film production in the UK, provided by a carefully selected pool of expert practitioners. Participants will get first-hand access to completely up-to-date insights from industry-leading figures on the opportunities and challenges confronting a first time feature film maker in the UK today.
The programme will run from February to April 2016.
Deadline for applications: Thursday 28 January (5pm)
Creative England’s talent modules programme is supported by BFI NET.WORK, which exists to discover, develop and fund new and emerging filmmakers. For more about BFI NET.WORK click here.
