Gavin Williams is an award-winning film maker based in Newcastle. As a writer he has been commissioned by YTV, Channel 5, Carlton, Penguin, HTV, Corgi and Lego, among others. In 2009 Gavin began to direct. His short, Sleepworking, has won eight awards, including Grand Jury Prize at the Science Fiction + Fantasy Short Film Festival at the Seattle EMP Museum, Prix du Jury at Utopiales International Festival of Science Fiction, and Best Director at the Salty Horror Film Festival. The film played at sixty international film festivals, including Screamfest, Leeds International Film Festival, Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival, Lund International Fantastic Film Festival. Gavin won a Northern Promise Award in 2011. His horror novel, Hush, was short-listed for a British Fantasy Society Award. In 2010 Gavin penned an original novel, Driver: Nemesis set in the universe of Ubisoft's best-selling Driver videogame franchise for Random House. He worked on the Royal Television Society Award-Winning Alternate Reality Game, Time Machine. His début horror feature, Await Further Instructions, shot Autumn 2015 at GPS studios, North Yorkshire, starring David Bradley (Game Of Thrones, Harry Potter). It’s produced by Newcastle-based Shudder films. His project, The Poison Forest, was shortlisted for the Sundance Screenwriter Labs 2015.
