Katherine is a producer and director with over fourteen years’ experience in broadcast television and documentary films for theatrical release. She has made films for the BBC, Channel 4, ITV, and Discovery, amongst others.

Her films have covered such diverse subjects as the Olympic legacy, the plight of Latin American migrants in London, and the impact of widening inequality in the developed world. Recent projects as a director include the Grierson-nominated TRANSPLANT for BBC1, MY MUM & ME for Discovery, and a major feature length adaptation of the bestselling THE SPIRIT LEVEL. Her production company, Literally Films, focuses on social justice documentaries.

Katharine has also worked as a Development Executive at leading independent production companies, and now regularly gives masterclasses on documentary production and funding for organisation including Sheffield Doc/Fest Devise 2 Deliver, The Smalls Festival, and DOK Leipzig. She is a member of the jury for the One World Media Awards, which rewards the most outstanding media coverage of the developing world.
