A range of events will explore Make up, Production Office, Art Department, Costume and AD Department and the career opportunities in each.

Join Richard Lingard for an insight into the Life of an Assitant director in a session focusing on how to develop the core skills needed to step up within the role. Richard Lingard is a freelance 1st Assistant Director with over 25 years' experience, working on many different types of production all over the world. Working on Feature Films, Commercials, TV productions and Shorts, Richard has enjoyed many opportunities to work with some of the best directors and film crews in the business. From his first job as a Runner for Ridley and Tony Scott to looking after Christian Slater's cigarettes during takes on 'Prince of Thieves' and directing a crowd of 10,000 extras in India, Richard brings a wide range of AD and production experience to advise and share with the next generation of Assistant Directors

Please note that this class is for North East early career industry professionals. To take part in this class you must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  1. You must have a minimum of 1 paid credit gained in a film, TV or a commercials production environment, working as a trainee or above, and for a duration of at least 1 week.
  2. You must be based in the North East of England (County Durham, Northumberland, Teesside or Tyne and Wear).
