Kate Leys

Kate is a feature film script editor who works on projects at all stages of development. Kate has been head of development at several companies including FilmFour, where she was based for 5 years and where she was part of the small team commissioning and developing some of the UK's most successful feature films including FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL and TRAINSPOTTING. She developed ORPHANS and brought in EAST IS EAST and GIRL WITH A PEARL EARRING, working with countless British writers and directors along the way.

Josh Appignanesi

Josh recently co-wrote the upcoming rom-com ALL ROADS LEAD TO ROME starring Sarah Jessica Parker. He directed indie comedy feature THE INFIDEL, scripted by David Baddiel and starring Omid Djalili, Richard Schiff, Matt Lucas, Archie Panjabi, and Miranda Hart. His first feature was award-winning religious psychodrama SONG OF SONGS, starring Natalie Press and co-written with Jay Basu.

Josh has also directed talent such as John Malkovich, Tom Hiddleston, David Tennant, Sarah Kestelman and Michelle Dockery, and collaborated with artist Martin Creed among others, working across shorts and commercials. He is currently completing a feature documentary with producer Mia Bays.

Josh has taught at the London Film School, Arista, Script Factory, Film London’s Microwave, Guardian Masterclasses, Northern Film School, Met Film School, and internationally. 

Andrea Cornwell

Andrea Cornwell has most recently completed production on Suite Française for eOne, TF1 and The Weinstein Company. Starring Michelle Williams, Kristin Scott Thomas and Matthias Schoenaerts, the WWII drama will open worldwide in early 2015. Her last film was the sci-fi thriller The Last Days On Mars for Universal Pictures / Focus Features International, starring Liev Schreiber, Olivia Williams, Elias Koteas and Romola Garai,  and directed by Ruairi Robinson. The film received its premiere in Director’s Fortnight at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival. 

Julia Short

From a background in advertising and consumer PR, Julia joined Rank Film Distributors in the early 1990’s. After which she moved on to PolyGram to become responsible for running the theatrical marketing and publicity department in the UK, releasing such films as TRAINSPOTTING, FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL, FARGO, TWELVE MONKEYS and THE USUAL SUSPECTS. 

After PolyGram closed in 1999, Julia moved to Redbus (now Lionsgate) and Film Four Distribution. In 2003 set up VERVE PICTURES with Colin Burch during which time they acquired BULLET BOY, Andrea Arnold’s RED ROAD, the Oscar nominated DOGTOOTH and released a number of films by first time film makers. 

From 2011 to 2013 Julia was Head of Acquisitions at The Works Film Group where she acquired Kieran Evans BAFTA winning KELLY + VICTOR.  Julia is currently actively involved in delivering several high profile training courses for both the Film Distributor’s Association, MEDIA and Creative Skillset as well as consulting for Pulse Films and has recently joined House Distribution UK in a consultancy capacity.  House has acquired 28 films many of which are focused on a digital release.
