Baumi Script Development Award Open For Entries
The Baumi Script Development Award is open to international screenwriters with a treatment written in English. To be eligible for the Award, applicants must submit with a production company or must already have had at least one of their scripts filmed.
Karl "Baumi" Baumgartner was a film producer and distributor with an eye for high-quality art-house films. As a tribute to Baumi's work, and in order to support his vision of free, independent script development of outstanding, international, cinematic stories, Martina and Sandra Baumgartner, his co-founder, Pandora Film and the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW established the Baumi Script Development Award, with the prize of 20,000 Euros.
Eligibility and rules:
- Applications are open to feature films only (no documentaries, television formats or shorts)
- All treatments and materials have to be submitted in English
- Treatments should not exceed 12 pages (line spacing 1.5 / Arial regular, size 12)
- Treatments based on a novel have to be secured with the underlying rights to the material. An author statement of rights (scriptwriter and/or director) or an option contract must be provided with the application. Personal rights to the filmed work must also be provided.
