Jameson First Shot offers three writer-directors the chance to make a short film with Trigger Street Productions.

The brainchild of Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti, Trigger Street Productions was originally established in 1997 as a dynamic space for showcasing new filmmaking talent. It has remained at the forefront of film innovation and is today the production house behind multi-award-winning hits such as The Social NetworkCaptain Phillips and House of Cards.

Now entering its fourth year, the competition is open to writer-directors living in South Africa, Russia, the US, UK, Ireland, India, Australia, Canada, Bulgaria and Kenya.

Each year scripts submitted to Jameson First Shot must include a key role for a specific actor. Previous actors involved include Uma Thurman, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe and Kevin Spacey. This year the script must centre around Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Entry rules:

- Entrants must be over the age of 25

-The script must be at least 5 pages long but no longer than 7 A4 pages (size 12 font) 

-The script should include a key role that is appriopriate for Maggie Gyllenhaal to perform and a maximum of 7 cast.

- The script should not include any character who is under the age of 25.

- Final films must be approximately 5 minutes in duration.

- Your story should be around the great and/or unexpected things that can happen when you fear less and invite life in.
