I was particularly interested in The Artist’s Cut scheme because of its personal support, mentoring and collaboration with industry professionals. I am excited about all aspects of collaboration and in challenging my methodologies - leaning new aspects of filmmaking that will stay with me onto future projects.

I tend to write scripts and use them as blue prints, improvising and filming around them. The films are then formed during the edit. This scheme allows me the time, space and support to approach filmmaking in a new way: developing the character, working and editing the script until it is ready to transfer into the actors and subsequently through light, onto the screen.

I look forward to continued script editing, forming a crew and cast for close collaboration, and to continued workshops including next month’s hands on directing session with Gillies Mackinnon.
